3. on AT&T -- the formula @mobile.att.com no longer works. Use this instead:

ex-AT&T 1+AreaCode+Mobile@mmode.com

I have Cinguler-was-AT&T TDMA service, and I just ran into this problem and found the fix.

they are providing sms Email gateway facilty on
sancharnet.in
you can send sms to any india GSM Mobile with mobilenumber@sms.sancharnet.in

don't use coutry code in mbile number
